Statutory Status

The Governing Council is the apex statutory body of Navkis College of Engineering, Hassan. It is constituted and functions in accordance with:

  • AICTE Regulations
  • VTU Statutes and Ordinances
  • UGC Guidelines for Autonomous / Affiliated Institutions

The Governing Council is responsible for policy formulation, strategic direction, academic governance oversight, financial oversight, and institutional development.

Roles & Responsibilities of the Governing Council
  • Define the vision, mission, and long-term strategic goals of the institution
  • Approve academic policies, institutional plans, and quality initiatives
  • Oversee financial planning, infrastructure development, and resource allocation
  • Ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and accreditation requirements
  • Monitor institutional performance and governance effectiveness
  • Support innovation, research, and industry collaboration initiatives

The Governing Council comprises representatives from Management, Academia, Industry, Statutory Bodies, Faculty, and Administration, ensuring balanced and transparent governance.

  • The Governing Council is constituted for a fixed tenure as per statutory norms
  • Meetings are conducted at least twice a year, or as required
  • Decisions are recorded through formal Minutes of Meetings (MoM)
  • Action Taken Reports (ATR) are reviewed in subsequent meetings
